Your Community Bread Company
We opened Breadsmith® of Whitefish Bay in May of 1998. It has been an immediate and dramatic success. Bon Appetit ranked it one of the top bread stores in America. Additionally, the Breadsmith® brand French peasant bread won a medal from the International Culinary Salon.

We offer a wide variety of hand made, hearth baked breads. In fact, on most days we offer thirteen different bread varieties to choose from! Everyday, we bake a regular line-up of what we refer to as "daily" breads. These are classics that are appropriate for any occasion. They include sourdough, ciabatta, rustic Italian, and three varieties of French bread - the baguette, the boule, and French peasant (a French bread with cracked wheat). We supplement our daily breads with specialty breads that are produced throughout the week on particular days. Stop in to our store and pick up a menu.

In addition to our award winning breads, we offer delicious jams and jellies, breakfast platters, gift boxes which are perfect for dinner party gifts, birthdays or as "thank you" presents, and an extensive line-up of dipping oils.

We offer free tours to school, scout and community groups to learn about artisan bread making. Please contact the store if you would like to arrange a tour for your group!

We are happy to have the opportunity to serve the Milwaukee community. Please come in for a free slice of our hand made, hearth baked bread!

* 85 bread varieties. Daily breads have no preservatives, oils or additives.
* Specialty and holiday shaped breads including Thanksgiving turkey-shaped bread, Easter bunny-shaped bread, Fourth of July "Freedom" bread, Christmas evergreen-tree shaped-bread and many more!
* Each customer is provided with an "owners manual" with information about how to serve and store our bread.
* Nutritional information is available at the counter. Just ask for it.
* Our 6-ton European stone hearth oven can bake up to 160 loaves simultaneously.
* Leftovers are donated to local food pantries at the end of each day.
* We provide a "frequent buyer card" - buy 12 loaves get the 13th free.
* We hold 4 major fund-raising charitable events per year.
* All flour is unbleached, unbromated and derived from American grown wheat.
